Minibus services will commence in Male' City before September, says Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC).
CEO Ali Azim mentioned that the minibusses were purchased from China and will be arriving in the Maldives before September. He said this was to increase public transport services, and of course, ensure that busses are available every 10 minutes.
'The minibus routes will be on bigger roads such as Majeedhee Magu, Foreign Ministry road, Ameenee Magu, etc.,' said Azim.
Along with the minibusses, the buses for Hulhumale' Phase II direct route, L. atoll, Addu City, and Fuvahmulah City will also arrive then. A total of 30 vehicles will arrive at the same time.
MTCC's CEO continued to say that an MoU was signed in order to procure the buses, and that other relevant agreements will be signed this month. The budget needed for the purpose was set aside as well.
