Vice President Faisal Naseem on Monday visited government offices and institutions in the Maamigili and Fenfushi Islands of the South Ari Atoll. He is on a two-day visit to three islands in the Nilandhe and South Ari Atolls.
On Fenfushi Island, the Vice President visited and met with the management and staff of the health centre and school. In his meeting with the Fenfushi School faculty, they shared with the Vice President the difficulties they faced due to space constraints and their wish to switch to single-session schooling, in addition to other management concerns. Officials of the health center spoke with the Vice President about ways to resolve difficulties in the availability of medicine and other pharmaceutical products. The Vice President assured them that their concerns would be communicated with the relevant authorities.
On Maamigili Island, his last stop on the trip, the Vice President visited and met the faculty of the Alifu Dhaalu Atoll Education Centre and the management and staff of the health center. During the meetings, the Vice President inquired about the management of services and listened to their concerns.
The faculty of the education centre requested the Vice President to expedite the project to develop a new building. The Vice President assured them that he would speak with the relevant authorities to accommodate their request. On Maamigili Island, the Vice President also made a stop at the Road Development Corporation (RDC) site.
After a two-day trip to Nilandhoo Island in the Nilandhe Atoll and the Maamigili and Fenfushi Islands in the South Ari Atoll, the Vice President would return to Malé later this afternoon.
