Fenaka has implemented the minimum wage by the Ministry of Economic Development with reference to policy no: 2/2008 (employment act) section 59: order establishing minimum wage or remuneration.
The minimum wage was established on 8 November 2021, to be effective from 1st January 2022. It was to be implemented based on business classification. The objective of this is to stimulate growth and promote inclusive growth while ensuring that the livelihood of the Maldivian workforce is improved.
