Minister Launches a Book on Special Educational Needs

Under the Australian Awards Small Grants Scheme, a book to help parents who have children with special needs prepared by Dr. Fathimath Nishan was launched today by Dr. Ibrahim Hassan.

The book was launched during a special ceremony just for it. As the description says, this book is one to help parents gain more information about how to help their children if they have a hard time learning and studying.

Speaking during the ceremony, the minister said that due to Covid19, children have had to stay home and attend classes, hence, parents have to be more involved in their studies and help them when their teachers are unable to. Hence why this book was launched to assist parents who do not have teaching experience or who do not know how to communicate the lessons to their children properly.

Dr. Fathimath Nishan mentioned that the e-book was also given to the Department of Inclusive Education and that it will be available for all parents to download on the department’s website.
