STELCO Powers Hulhule for the First Time

Under the project to provide electricity to Male, Hulhule, and Hulhumale, STELCO was recently able to provide it for Hulhule. They say this is a new phase in the electricity industry here in the Maldives.

STELCO was able to come to an agreement with MACL on the 6^th of this month and under the scope of the MoU, they were able to provide electricity to Hulhule for the first time in history, last Friday (21^st January).

July of last year was the first time the Greater Male Interconnection Grid network which connects Male, Hulhule, and Hulhumale was used. Power provision to Hulhule is also carried out within this grid, and with this announcement, Hulhule is now connected as the third island within the grid.

STELCO says that this project will bring improvement in the people’s lives and make it easier for the company to provide services for them.
