Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) has revealed that direct bus trips from Male' to Hulhumale' Phase II will be arranged before August.
Currently, many people who do not have a vehicle of their own are having a hard time commuting to Male’ for various reasons whilst living in Hulhumale’ Phase 2. MTCC has said that they are making many efforts to establish an easier and more accessible transport system for the people. The company currently only provides bus services to Hulhumale’ Phase 2 only through a connection from Phase 1.
As a state-owned company, they are working to bring more buses to expand its services and provide quality transport services to residents of the Greater Male’ Area (GMA). The company has stated that some of the buses for this cause will be brought in before August.
In addition to expanding their services in the GMA, MTCC is working to enhance the bus services in the southern regions of the country. For this, they have revealed their ongoing efforts to replace the worn-out buses which are currently being used in Addu City, Fuvahmulah City, and Laamu Atoll, as they are in bad condition.
