Qatar Airways Encourages You To Fly Greener With Their Voluntary Carbon Offset Program

Renowned multiple award-winning airline, Qatar Airways, is one of my favorites because of their commitment in improving how they manage their impact on the environment and its active participation in an aviation’s approach to tackle climate issues. In this regard, their environmental management system is certified to the highest level of International Air Transport Association’s Environmental Assessment program (IEnvA).

To further enhance the process, the airline has partnered up with IATA and ClimateCare in launching a voluntary carbon offset program for its passengers. The program will allow their passengers to voluntarily offset the carbon emissions associated with their journey on an aircraft of the airline at the point of booking. They assure that the credit bought to offset these emotions are from projects delivering independently verified carbon reductions as well as wider environmental and social benefits. Accordingly, all contributions received by their passengers through the program will be directed to the Fatanpur Wind Farm project in India via ClimateCare.

Apart from this program, the airways practice environmental friendliness through its modern fleet of technologically advanced aircraft, together with their fuel-efficiency program when combined optimizing aircraft performance and reducing the environmental impact of flying.
