First Classes Commence at Maldivian Aviation Academy Today

First batch of students at Maldives Aviation Academy, the first Civil Aviation Authority approved institute for flight training courses, commenced classes today.  
 
Located in Gan International Airport, MAA is a joint venture by the Maldives National University and Island Aviation that was established in October of last year. Aspiring pilots in the Maldives have previously faced uncertain and unfavorable situations therefore, MAA aims to provide state-of-the-art tech and modern learning facilities for its students. 

 
In a first, classes are being conducted online on the Learning Management System (LMS) with real time instructions by teachers from Flying School of Czech Republic appointed to manage the academy. Four days a week from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m., classes will take place beginning with 150 dedicated hours for refresher training, followed by 10 hours of fly time. There are 35 students in this batch.
