STELCO Takes Over Power Provision in Hulhule

State Electric Company and Maldives Airport Company Limited sign MoU agreeing on the provision of electricity to the island of Hulhule by STELCO.

In a special ceremony held for the event, signings were done by Managing Director of STELCO, Hassam Muqny and Acting In-Charge of MACL, Ibrahim Thoha.

MACL operates the main gateway to Maldives, Velana International Airport on the island of Hulhule. STELCO takes great pride in facilitating electricity to Hulhule, and jointly contributing to the continuing growth of the nations’s economy. As stated by Mugny, this opportunity is a testament to the mutual understanding and dedication towards development by both the companies.

This project will assist in relieving MACL from providing electricity on Hulhule, and cater to the increasing demands through STELCO’s Greater Male Interconnection Grid network.
