STO Launches Apprenticeship Programs in Association with Youth Ministry

State Trading Organization and Ministry of Youth, Sports and Community empowerment has today launched an Apprenticeship Program. A special ceremony was held for the occasion and State Minister of the Ministry Mr. Hussain Ismail, General Manager of STO Peoples Operations Department Ms. Maryam Nuzla, along with officials participated in the event.  
 
The 6-month Apprenticeship Programs are aimed at training young recruits to familiarize with the demands and scope of a real-world work environment under expert supervision. In this regard, 26 slots will be made available in 6 different sectors.  
 
Participants will undergo at least 800 hours of training approved under the National Competency Standard by Maldives National Skills Development Authority during the course, and receive a MNQ Level 3 Certificate upon graduation.  
 
The Apprenticeship Programs will take place for the upcoming 3 years. STO has set allowances for the participants of the program based on the work they are required to perform within the apprenticeship.
