MTCC Undertakes New Reclamation Connection Bridge Project

Ministry of National Planning Housing & Infrastructure contracts Maldives Transport & Contracting Company for the establishment of New Reclamation Connection Bridge Project that is set to connect Maafushi Island with the New Picnic Island.
 
The signing ceremony took place at the hand-over ceremony of the Picnic Island to the Island Council on December 28^th, 2021. The ceremony was also attended by the President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih in which other officials were also present.
 
For the signing ceremony representing MTCC was the CEO of MTCC, Adam Azim and the Permanent Secretary of MNPHI, Zeeniya Hameed signed on behalf of the Ministry. The project is set to be worth MVR 35.1 million.
 
Scope of work for the project include the establishment of 138-meter long and 20-meter wide bridge, concrete works, paving, drainage works, installation of lights and sign boards, metal works and shore protection of 80-meters.
