On December 27th, 2021, the Little Maid’s Advocacy event of the 9th National Sixers’ Camp was held at Ghaazee School, under the theme ‘Girl Powered Nutrition”. The three-day camp is held from December 26th to 28th.
Chief Guide and First Lady of Maldives, Fazna Ahmed graced the ceremony with an inspiring speech about the theme and the significance of nutrition and making healthy life choices. She emphasized that a lack of nutrition causes the bulk of health problems in women and adolescent girls, and that a range of healthful produce may be found locally.
The First Lady also expressed hope that the Girl Powered Nutrition (GPN) badge and advocacy campaign would help girls gain a better understanding of nutrition and become more health-conscious.
The World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts runs GPN, which is a global program (WAGGGS). It encourages girl-led transformation by instilling in them the value of leading a balanced and healthy lifestyle.
The "sixers challenge," an activity designed to build abilities and instill collaborative traits, was also completed by participants. The Maldives Girl Guide Association is hosting a year-end camp for over 300 sixers from 42 schools in 13 atolls around the country (MGGA).
