Health Camp Dedicated For Migrant Workers Successfully Concludes

On the occasion of International Migrants Day, Maldivian Red Crescent in association with partners, carried out a dedicated Health Camp for the migrants working in Hulhumale’ City.
 
The event that took place on 24^th December was in association with Society for Health Education (SHE), Cancer Society of Maldives (CSM) with Mission for Migrant Workers Maldives (MMWM). Health Protection Agency (HPA) also contributed to the event by donating COVID vaccines.

 
Moreover, Blood Pressure & Diabetic testing and general consultation took place in which ADK and Life Support had provided the participants with free medicine after consultation.
 
According to MMWM, around 200 migrants were screened through this camp. CSM and SHE had carried out Hepatitis & Blood Group testing & Oral Cancer Screening.

 
Legal Aid was also provided to the migrants through this camp as an initiative by Public Interest Law Center & Transparency Maldives. Furthermore, more initiatives were carried out by Human Rights Commission, Welfare Association for Tamil Expatriates, Indian Council for Culture Relations in Maldives, HPA and UNICEF Maldives.
