Do You Have Sustainable Development Ideas? Here Is Your Chance to Make It Real!

At a time where everyone is thinking green, I am sure a good portion of our readers would have innovative ideas of sustainable development projects. If you do, and you are at a place where you do not have the financial means to implement it, this is your golden chance!

United Nations Development Program Maldives (UNDP Maldives) is now calling for concept notes formulated by ideas for the implementation of sustainable development projects under the Small Grants Program (SGP) by the Global Environment Facility (GEF). The SGP is a corporate program that has been implemented by the UNDP sine 1992 which aims to support small scale project in 5 thematic areas; biodiversity, climate change, land degradation, international waters and persistent organic pollutants.

Any Civil Society Organization (CSO) with priority for national and local non-governmental organizations (NGOs), community-based organizations (CBOs) and scientific communities, advocating for the rights of persons with disability, women, and children can submit their concept notes. Winning concepts will be granted a maximum of USD 30,000. However, in special cases, a maximum of USD 50,000 can be considered. All projects must fit to a duration of 24 months.
