New Laws Inaugurated For Individuals & Passengers Driving Four Wheelers

Ministry of Transport and Civil Aviation made an announcement recently regarding an addition to the laws of Individuals driving four wheelers in roads above the 30kmph speed.
 
The new law requires the driver along with the passenger seated in the front to be wearing seat belts whilst driving four wheelers in roads that require a speed of 30kmph and above.
 
The law regulation is set to come effect on January 1st, 2020. Minister of Transport and Civil Aviation, Aishath Nahula, had started the discussion on the requirement of the seat belts since November 2020.
 
With this new law in place, safety of passengers and drivers during road accidents are increased.
