On December 22nd, 2021, a signing ceremony took place at the Maldives Transport & Contracting Company’s office building where the company was contracted by the Maldives National University to inaugurate the building of a Maritime Survival Center in the University.
The project that is estimated to be worth MVR 4.59 million is to be completed within 210 days. Scope of works include, 1200cbm of land filling operations, construction of a 35m sheet pile quay wall, a 27.25m L-Section Quay wall, a 4.2X4m ramp and installation of mooring bollards.
For the signing ceremony that took place at the company’s head office, the CEO of MTCC, Adam Azim signed on behalf of the company whilst the Vice Chancellor of MNU signed on behalf of the University.
The Maritime Survival Center that is to be established will train individuals to develop water survival skills, reduce fear, raise self confidence and develop the individual’s strategy to survive in water.
