President Praises MTCC’s Long Standing Service For The Nations Development

President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih graced the Maldives Transport & Contracting Company (MTCC)’s 41st anniversary celebration ceremony held on December 19th at Henveiru Football Stadium. President Solih was accompanied to the function by Vice President Faisal Naseem and senior government officials.
 
The president highlighted and celebrated the company by noting some of the remarkable projects the company had undertaken during their long-standing service towards the development of the country.
 
The first phase of the "Integrated National Public Ferry Network," a large-scale project that will offer efficient, economical, convenient, and sustainable passenger and freight ferry services across the country, is one of MTCC's largest projects now underway.


 
Ferry services will be launched in the first phase of the project in the atolls of Haa Alifu, Haa Dhaalu, and Shaviyani. President Solih spoke about the initiative and encouraged young people to take advantage of the new job opportunities that come with it.
 
President Solih also discussed the role of MTCC in human resource development. Under the organization's technical skills training program, the corporation hopes to teach 100 people in the next three years.
 
The President also mentioned how MTCC was active during the Covid-19 outbreak, expressing his faith in the company's ability to improve its services and speed up project completion times. He went on to say how important state-owned firms are in carrying out the administration's plans.


 
During the ceremony, the Chairman of MTCC, Mohamed Faheem presented the book "Kaamiyaabu 40," which chronicles the achievements of MTCC over its 40-year history, to the President.
 
Furthermore, long-serving employees of the company was presented with commemorative plaques by President Solih, along with VP Faisal handing over letters of acceptance to participants who were selected for the employee training programs for 2021.
