The Joint Interagency Operations Center (JIOC) was officially launched by President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih at The Maldives National Defense Force (MNDF) Headquarters on December 7th, 2021.
In crises that pose a threat to national security, the JIOC will function as the primary operational base, connecting all state institutions.
Tasked with coordinating counter-terrorism measures, developing plans, and executing operations in accordance with the National Terrorism Response Plan, JIOC will be the main point of contact.
The formation of the JIOC demonstrates the administration's determination to enacting its "zero-tolerance" policy in order to combat the country's escalating threat of radicalism, violent extremism, and terrorism.
