WAMCO Makes A Promising Donation To Kulhudhuhffushi City

Formed in 2009 and later re-opened in 2015, Waste Management Corporation Limited (WAMCO) has been providing a sustainable waste management solution across Maldivian islands.

The corporation began operations on January 1st, 2016, by taking over the waste management role for the Malé Region. This covers the daily garbage transfer from Malé to Thilafushi, Villimalé waste management, and waste disposal in the Thilafushi landfill region.

With their vision being to be a leader in delivering innovative waste management solutions and their mission being establishing an integrated system and maximum value by efficiently and effectively managing the country’s waste resource in an environmentally, socially and economically responsible manner, WAMCO has thrived in the country.

As part of their Corporate Social Responsibility Initiative, WAMCO has recently made headlines for donating 10 large green dustbins to Kulhudhuffushi City. These dustbins will be placed and used by the city schools in the island.
