A signing ceremony took place on December 6th, 2021 at the head office of Maldives Transport & Contracting Company (MTCC), where MTCC signed an agreement with Ministry of Youth, Sports and Community Empowerment. The agreement was signed to train students under the Hunavaru Technical Skills Program in which MTCC aims to train at least 100 students within the next three years.
For the signing ceremony that took place, on behalf of MTCC, the company’s CEO, Adam Azim signed whereas on behalf of Ministry of Youth, the ministry’s State Minister, Hussain Ismail signed.
The agreement was signed under the on-going National Apprenticeship Program, carried out by the government, in which the program aligns with the National Competency Standards of Maldives National Skills Development Authority.
Through this program, MTCC will train students with the mission of successfully developing skilled individuals that will be ready to take on job possibilities through their respective trained professions some of whom will be recruited by MTCC themselves.
The program is set to be carried out in two groups; Hunavaru Licensing Program and Hunavaru Technical Skills Program that is set to start on January 2022 and will carry on for the next three months that 30 participants will graduate from.
MTCC will train the students in welding, plumbing, electrical works, automotive mechanical works, carpentry and construction site supervising and many more. The participants will be trained for 6 months before they graduate and will also be allocated an allowance of MVR 3000/ month. MTCC will also be covering the travel fairs for the students who will train in islands other than Male’, Villimale’ & Hulhumale’ City.
