Eshal Wins Big At Para Badminton Match, Making History For Maldives!

Asian Youth Para Games 2021 hosted in Bahrain City, Lebanon, is a multi-sports event held every four years for young athletes with impairment age range between 12 to 20 years old.

For the first time ever, Hawwa Eshal represented Maldives in the para games, making history. She competed against Bangladeshi player, Shormy Mozumadaar in Badminton and scored a win in an intense match making history once again!

The intense match carried on for 24 minutes where two sets took place. Eashal won both sets with 21-18 and 21-13.

Minister of Youth, Sports & Community Empowerment, Ahmed Mahloof congratulated Eshal for the win and celebrated the moment made in history for Maldives. He highlighted that this win has opened up the opportunity for many more games in the future, along with being an inspiration itself for the Paralympic committee in Maldives.
