Second batch of ambulances promised to atolls have been brought by State Trading Organization (STO) to Maldives and are underway of dispatching as per a statement said by the State Minister of Health Ministry, Ahmed Adil.
The customs have cleared the ambulances along with the remaining administration works and are underway for delivery to the atolls. By mid-December, a third and final batch of ambulances will arrive and will hopefully resolve the ambulance shortage in the country.
Speaking further, Ahmed also stressed on the poor conditions of old ambulances in the islands at the moment and the current administrations aim to replace the old vehicles have been supported by many.
