BML Apologizes For The Reoccurring System Outages Due To Their Latest Upgrade

The Bank of Maldives upgrades their systems on a regular basis to improve operational resiliency and maintain the appropriate security and technology requirements provided for the communities in Maldives. It’s safe to say that BML is one of the safest and growing banks in the country.

Recently, BML completed a major overhaul to the main banking system on November 21^st, 2021. Upgrading a core banking system is often a lengthy and difficult operation that has the potential to disrupt service availability for banks all around the world.

While it was anticipated for very minor system outages, which was informed to the customers of BML ahead of time, BML has unfortunately continued to experience occasional outages following the upgrade. However, the bank is in continuous works to fix the outages.

Because of these outages, the Bank has publicly apologized in a press release made today, November 29^th. The public's co-operation is highly requested during such difficult times.
