Reading Park Established In Thoddoo, Marking The First Park To Ever Open In The Island

With the help of the BML Community Fund, a reading park has been established near AA. Thoddoo's harbor area. The project was led by Thoddoo School’s Leading Teacher, Adam Afsal.

The project's goal is to encourage neighborhood members to read by providing an accessible area for them to do so, as well as to develop community participation and family bonds. The reading park contains a small library along with seating arrangements with traditional joali and swings for visitors.

The reading park is designed in the style of a garden and includes games like chess and dominos to help children improve motor skills. The park also contains labeled plants, which aid children in gaining knowledge and understanding of their environment.

Expressing his enthusiasm with the project, Leading Teacher of Thoddoo School, Adam Afsal thanked BML for their immense support of their Community Fund that has helped in building the park. He highlighted that there was no park in the island for children before this, hence this park will provide a community area for the children to mingle and build their social skills.
