Bangladesh’s Foreign Secretary, Masud Bin Momen Visits Maldives With Delegates

Bangladesh's Foreign Secretary, Ambassador Masud Bin Momen, arrived in the Maldives on November 26th for an official visit on the invitation of Maldives Foreign Secretary, Abdul Ghafoor Mohamed.

High-ranking officials from Bangladesh's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Expatriates Welfare and Employment and Ministry of Home Affairs accompanied the Ambassador in his visitation. Chief of Protocol, Aishath Shaan Shakir and Joint Secretary, Fathimath Ghina, greeted the Foreign Secretary and his delegation at Velana International Airport upon their arrival.

Bangladesh's Foreign Secretary is visiting the Maldives to hold the first bilateral consultations between the two countries' foreign ministries, as stipulated by the 'Memorandum of Understanding on the Establishment of Bilateral Consultations' signed between the two countries in March 2021.

The two Foreign Secretaries will evaluate bilateral cooperation and progress in the implementation of agreements reached between the two nations during the official consultations, as well as discuss new areas of cooperation.

During the two-day visit, Ambassador Masud bin Momen will confer with Vice President, Faisal Naseem, Minister of Economic Development, Fayyaz Ismail and Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Ahmed Khaleel.
