Maldives Customs Services has released their monthly statistics for import and export for the month of October 2021. The imported goods have increased 89% compared to same time last year whilst the exported goods decreased by 18%.
Goods worth MVR 3.8 billion was imported including fuel in total this October whilst MVR 309 million was exported. The Customs revenue decreased by 31% compared to last year. October also showed a royalty of MVR 3 million.
Oman remains the top importer for the Maldives with goods worth MVR 512 million imported. India became the second importer with goods imported worth MVR 490 million. UAE followed with MVR 438 million worth goods imported. Chine imported MVR 437 million worth of goods while Singapore imported MVR 385 million worth of goods.
Vessels arrived to Maldives compared to last year of October had increased by 7 vessels and vessels departed increased by 10 vessels. The total number of declarations processed last year was 10,890 forms whilst this year 18,403 forms were declared in October.
