The President's National Award for Public Service is awarded to individuals who have served the country for more than 35 years and have been acknowledged as dedicated and loyal employees who have contributed to the growth of their professions. Some of these recognized individuals were awarded the National Award on the marking ceremony of the 54th Republic Day of the Maldives by President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih.
Out of the 117 recipients who received the national award for public service, 32 were female and 30 were male who were chosen by The National Awards Committee. The recipients of the award include public employees who served the state in various capacities in different ranks, some of whom belong to the Maldives National Defense Force (MNDF), Maldives Police Service (MPS), and other uniform bodies. Since there are a large number of recipients, the government of Maldives has decided to present half of the awards later this year the National Unity Day celebrations.
