Villa College Presents You A Strong Motive to Choose Them In Pursing Your Psychology Degrees!

Yesterday, we had the opportunity to cover a special ceremony held at the College, to seal the deal between them and local counselling institutions for the purpose of facilitating practical training for students pursuing their degree in psychology at Villa College.

In this regard, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed at the ceremony with five different parties being; Minister of Gender, Family and Social Services, CyMa Care, Society for Health Education (SHE), Institute for Counselling & Psychotherapy Private Limited (ICP) and Maldives Institute for Psychological Services, Training and Research (MIPSTAR).

Villa College reports that the first batch to undertake practical training will commence so on January 2021. They extend their gratitude to counselling institutions in cooperating with them to make this happen.

Speaking at the ceremony, representatives from counselling institution highlights the importance of this initiative in the light of the shortage of qualified psychology graduates experienced in the Maldives. Thus, this is enhancing the capability of students in addition to developing the field of psychology in the country.

Both the college and the counselling institutions note that the training students will receive under this would be extremely beneficial in shaping their careers. It is important that fresh graduates have the proper skills needed to apply their knowledge to a working environment from the very start.
