Maldives Transport and Contracting Company has been one of the most profitable entities in the Maldives in the recent times. Even amid the global pandemic, the company has been able to complete its mega projects ongoing throughout the Maldives despite challenges faced.
Last September, MTCC has completed land reclamation and shore protection of two islands in Kaafu Atoll worth close to MVR 217 million.
K. Guraidhoo Land Reclamation and Shore Protection project (on the cover) was completed on September 27. The project consisted of dredging and reclamation operations of 15 hectares and 1200m rock boulder revetment construction.
Earlier in the month on September 11, the 1.7 hectares Picnic Island Reclamation and Shore Protection Project at K, Guraidhoo also came to full completion. 278m rock boulder revetment construction and 160m rock boulder groyne construction were done within this project.
The project for Land Reclamation and Shore Protection on the tourist island of K. Maafushi carried out by MTCC was completed on September 27 too. As part of this project, a total of 25 hectares of land reclamation; construction of a 1,100m rock boulder revetment was carried out.
