Last Thursday marked a milestone occasion for the islanders of AA. Himandhoo as the newly developed harbour on the island was officially inaugurated by President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih.
As part of his isladn tour of North Ari Atoll, President Solih and his delegation of high-level ministers and officials of the government participated in the event alongside council members of the island.
President of HImandhoo Council, Husham Ismail extended his deep gratitude on behalf of the islanders for the fulfillment of their wishes by the government. It was well received by the President who appreciated the continued work by MTCC even amid the pandemic times. PM for Mathiveri constituency Hassan Zareer stated that the new harbor not only benefits the islanders of Himandhoo, but the neighboring islands will also see greater benefit of it in the near future.
The harbour development project worth MVR 49.94 million was taken up by Maldives Transport and Contracting Company and completed on April 20, 2021.
