President Solih’s Promises to the Islanders of North Ari Atoll

President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih is currently on an official trip to islands of North Ari Atoll. He has so far visited the islands of Thoddoo, Rasdhoo, Ukulhas, and Mathiveri. 
 
During his trip to Thoddoo, President Solih inspected the latest developments of the harbour extension project on the island. He also met with the farming community and guesthouse owners of Thoddoo, discussing their concerns and development plans. He reassured the guesthouse owners that it is a priority to develop local island tourism and bring the rightful profit to the islanders for sustainable development. He then moved on to meet with the island council and women’s development committee members.  
 
While in Thoddoo, President also inaugurated the newly-developed 12 classrooms and multi-purpose hall during his visit to Thoddoo School. 
 
President's second stop of the trip was Rasdhoo, where he deliberated with the island community and enquires about the most pertinent issues and needs of the residents. He reassured the council members that solutions to the housing challenges in Rasdhoo will come to an end soon. President toured the island and inspected one of the areas in Rasdhoo Island affected by beach erosion. He continued his tour to the Alif Alif Atoll Hospital in Rasdhoo, enquired on how to increase efficiency of health services provided to the residents. 
 
Later in the day, President Solih held discussions with the members of the North Ari Atoll Council. The meeting was held at the Secretariat of the North Ari Atoll Council in Rasdhoo Island. 
 
On his visit to Ukulhas island as his next stop, President Solih met with the island residents and shared confidence that the Government is working on improving the quality of life for the islanders. He also deliberated with the business and guesthouse owner community in the island, listening to their concerns too.  
 
President held discussions with the island council of Ukulhas, as well as the women’s development committee of the island, and urged the members to take full responsibility of the powers they are granted to bring benefit to the islanders. He visited the Health Center in Ukulhas Island, assesing on how the services can be improved further.  
 
President Solih was met by CEO of MTCC Adam Azim and Minister Aslam on an imspection of the latest developments of the harbour project on the island.  
 
Mathiveri was the fourth island of President Solih’s tour, where he promised the support of the government for the concerns of the islanders.  
 
President Solih will be visiting the two more island on his tour before his return.
