STELCO Successfully Progressing with Green Life Initiative

It was initiated by President Mohamed Solih on March 3, 2020 in a meeting held to commemorate the 70th Anniversary of the company.

In 2020, the company launched a new solar center to provide photovoltaic solutions across the country, while deploying solar generation in their network, to achieve very ambitious short –term goals. 

STELCO provides solar generations and installation. They ensure your solar energy system is properly sized, designed using high quality, high performance products available based on your requirements. The company also monitors professional installment of solar power systems for decades of trouble-free operations. 

Speaking to public media, Senior Manager Ahmed Ibrahim stated that society has been showing huge support to the cause. However, there are many challenges in providing the services to interested parties in Male’ due to the building concept not allowing maximum use of the panels. He also mentioned hesitation of some customers to switch to self-paid electricity production at home when a highly subsidized service is already in place. Nonetheless, awareness among the people on environment friendly practices has steered a hopeful change to come.

All eligible customers can submit an application and STELCO will proceed to assess and approve designs for the project. On agreement, STELCO also installs and monitors the solar panels and its performance during the contracted period. The packages include 3-year, 5-year and 7-year agreements starting from monthly payments as low as MVR 460/-
