President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih was summoned by the Ambassador of the United States of America to the Maldives, Her Excellency Alaina Teplitz on a farewell call yesterday morning at the President’s Office.
During the meeting, both parties shared progress on the ongoing matters of mutual interest, including human rights, good governance, democracy consolidation, socioeconomic development and counterterrorism. President and Ambassador also discussed the current administrations and the visions put forward by both Presidents for a more sustainable future.
Later in the day, Ambassador Teplitz met with the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Ahmed Khaleel. He noted the key role played by Ambassador Teplitz in reinvigorating the close and cordial ties between the United States and the Maldives. She returned the gratitude with humble appreciation for the warm hospitality extended by the Maldivian government and its people during her tenure.
The farewell calls were made by Ambassador Teplits on the successful completion of her tenure as the Ambassador of the United States to the Maldives.
