Maldives and Australia Assures Multilateral Collaboration in Official Meeting

Dan Tehan, Minister for Trade, Tourism and Investment of Australia has met with Ahmed Khaleel, the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs of the Maldives.  
 
They were joined by Shiuneen Rasheed, Joint Secretary, Mohamed Shaffau Ibrahim, Assistant Director and Hussain Azhaan Mohamed Hussain, Assistant Director at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. 
 
The official meeting held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs following Mr. Tehan’s arrival in the Maldives on Saturday saw fruitful discussion take place between both the parties.  
 
State Minister Khaleel expressed noted the many contributions made by the Australian government to the Maldives amid the Covid19 outbreak earlier last year.  
 
Main focus of the deliberations was on the different means of strengthening bilateral cooperation between both countries, targeting areas of economy and trade, education, environment and climate change, and people-to-people connection.  
 
The meeting concluded with both parties reiterating on their commitment to continuing further collaborations on a multilateral font.
