Are you a storyteller who has got something to say about climate change and its impact on the world? UNDP Maldives is giving you an opportunity to raise your voice in the matter at the ‘Film for Change: Climate Change” edition being hosted in partnership with Dhiraagu.
This creative project is aimed to empower youth enthusiastic about exploring the issues of climate change in the Maldives and narrating the stories through the medium of films. All local youth aged between 18-25, especially girls, are highly encouraged to grab this opportunity.
You do not need prior experience or knowledge of film making as priority will be given to selecting fresh applicants and training them within the program. A post-production component is also included, allowing interaction with industry experts for group training sessions. This will equip young talents with the technical and creative skills required to produce documentary-style short films with minimal equipment.
Five short films will be prepared under the theme of Sustainable Development Goal: Climate Action (SDG-13) which will be screened via social media and other public platforms followed by dialogue. The films will premiere on November 2021. This is also a golden opportunity to have your creations showcased on platforms for youth advocacy on climate change at local, regional, and global levels.
In-person training sessions for applicants will be held on the last week of October. Fill in the form and make your submissions before Sunday, October 24, 2021.
