On Thursday, the STO Agricenter on the agricultural island of Thoddoo spurred to life as the President of the Council, Ahmed Akram officially inaugurated the center.
Aimed at providing the maximum benefit of their local produce to the farmers by facilitating fair price and convenient trade means, STO Agricenter now has grown to a membership of over 500 farmers from across the country. With Thoddoo being one of the most prominent agricultural islands of all time, STO hopes that this strategic establishment will be of great benefit to the farmers of the island.
Now, farmers can directly trade with STO without the hustle of having to leave the island. The local produce will be taken from the farms directly to the Agricenter where further transport to resorts in the vicinity and the local market in the capital city Male will be done by the Agricenter. All 17 varieties of fruits and vegetables currently being traded by the Agricenter will be purchased from local farmers of Thoddoo at the center.
