Labour Relations Authority and MIRA to Work Together to Strengthen Implementation of Employment Act

As per the Memorandum of Understanding signed between the Labour Relations Authority and Maldives Inland Revenue Authority on Tuesday, both parties have agreed to collaborate on further strengthening the functions of LRA in enforcing the Employment Act.  
 
From now on, MIRA will be facilitating the collection of fines imposed by LRA in addition to connecting LRA to employer information on their online portal, MIRAconnect. LRA will have access to Service Charge information on the portal, where submission of information through the portal will be deemed as fulfillment of employers’ legal obligation to submit service charge information to both authorities. 
 
Established under the e Employment Act (2/2008), Labour Relations Authority is mandated with the overall compliance of the act.
