Cancer Society of Maldives (CSM) celebrates its 9th anniversary!

Cancer Society of Maldives (CSM) celebrates its 9th anniversary: acknowledging the sheer effort, hard work, and commitment of the Founder Members, and Executive Committee members in guiding CSM. The dedication of Cancer Support Group (CSG) members and technical team too, deserve the utmost praise!  

The COVID-19 pandemic had impacted CSM in every conceivable facet. Especially the inability to conduct their awareness activities & screening programs. Regardless, The members and staff rose like champions to the occasion.  

Our flagship carrier, the CSG had to steer its course to meet these challenges through the digital platform on zoom with a steadfast effort from the CSM team. The weekly physical meetings went digital!  

As meetings were held twice a week during lockdown which later got resolved to continue both physical and zoom meetings together, every week, which in itself is challenging and compounded due to technical issues. 
 
In Spite of such grievances, CSM notes with gratitude the support provided to them by the technical team, whenever they needed their input, be it taking part in awareness-raising programs on social media or giving us professional advice on our activities. It would be remiss of us not to mention here the awareness-raising activities participated by the CSG in different forums such as TV, print, and social media.  

CSM also celebrated being able to give help to individual CSG members and other cancer patients & caregivers who contacted CSM for support during COVID-19. Taking pleasure in the fact that they were able to facilitate requests for support in different forms and provide the necessary aid. 

Going forward, CSM will always strive to work to enhance its activities with great pleasure and gratitude for its sponsors and partners who help us expand our activities.
