Maldives at Dubai Expo 2020
Maldives is taking part in one of the longest running expos on an international arena, the Dubai Expo 2020. The innovative expo will beam with creative minds networking over the span of 182 days, starting this October 1. Taking place once in every 5 years, the Dubai Expo creates an international platform for Governments, businesses, organizations, and the public to come together to showcase their greatest talents.
The theme for Dubai Expo 2020 is ‘Connecting Minds, Creating the Future’. With aims of bringing humanitarian solutions to fruition, Maldives will take part in the expo alongside nearly 200 countries. This historical year also marks the first time the expo being held in a Middle Eastern country.
Maldives will be vibrantly showcased in the expo pavilion with displays of our rich culture, heritage, and traditions through musical performances, arts and crafts, and advertising materials. The world can once again reconnect with the naturally mesmerizing Maldivian islands, that has proudly embraced technological advancements into sustainable infrastructure for a brighter future.
More than 25 million visitors are expected to visit the expo. The Maldivian pavilion is being built in the sustainability district of the expo, whilst local arts and crafts will be up for sale at the world market. The Maldivian Government will be further organizing focused investment forums and special events on the sidelines.
Honor day allocated for the Maldives, October 25, 2021 will also be colorfully celebrated at the expo.
Dubai Expo 2020 will be held from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. on weekdays, and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on weekends. It is estimated that over 70% of the visitors will be international arrivals, creating a unique opportunity to mingle with various cultures from around the world. Children, students, elderly, and differently abled people will not require tickets to enter the expo arena.
