Miyaheli, the first-ever social innovation camp in the Maldives is back for another round; and this is your chance to finally turn your idea into a reality!
This innovative platform has brought together great change-maker minds since its inception in 2016. During the camp that takes place over the weekend, creators and mentors are given access to experts and tools that enable to come up with simply complicated solutions to major pressing issues in the society.
MIyaheli 2021 is scheduled to take place on October 7, and application is open for individuals between the age of 18-30. With no restriction to nationalities, gender, or being differently abled, everyone is encouraged to apply if you are residing cross A.A, A.Dh, Vaavu, and Kaafu Atoll in the Maldives.
Themes around ‘People, Planet, and Prosperity’, applicants can work on the following issues:
1. Innovation for the Planet
Climate change and other environmental issues continue to alarm and threaten the planet, and our future with its impact being felt everywhere.
2. Innovation for the People
The COVID-19 pandemic is like none other and has completely done a 360 on all our lives. The pandemic is affecting societies at their core, exposing existing societal issues and inequalities.
3. Innovation for Prosperity
Trends toward achieving a shared prosperity have largely stalled, as the world struggles with a slowing economy and rising inequality.
5 winning teams made up of selected participants can work in groups to come up with solutions, and work on a concept to pitch for seed funding. APPLY NOW!
The platform is a collaboration between UNDP Maldives and Ooredoo, backed by Ministry of Youth, Sports, and Community Empowerment, Business Center Corporation, and the Australian High Commission for Sri Lanka and Maldives.
