Male City Mayor Dr. Mohamed Muiz embarks on a week-long official trip to Turkey on the 10th September 2021: In an effort to discuss aid in regards to development, Dr. Muiz aims to establish relations with the respective councils and discuss possibilities of joint projects in the future.
The Mayor, Muizzu visits Istanbul accompanied on the visit by Male’ City Council’s Management Consultant Hassan Zareer and Senior Council Executive Ahmed Shareef. Together with the shared vision of the betterment of the Capital City in the Maldives, they meet with the mayors of Turkish cities in order to reinforce ties and seek assistance to develop Male’ City.
Among the plethora of topics discussed, Muizzu highlighted a lot of the problems that are of immediate priority as the issues discussed have been known to have been around for too long, the current Government along with all the citizens that reside in Male City, Maldives wants positive change for the city. In order to achieve this, the council has been conducting regular public forums to discuss issues facing the residents of the city and seek public opinion on planned projects.
Muizzu also took the time to put the spotlight on Male City Council’s efforts in conducting a number of initiates to address longstanding issues facing the congested Maldivian capital, including building parking zones across the city to ease traffic. The council is also conducting a streetscaping project to redevelop the roads of Male’ City in collaboration with Road Development Corporation (RDC).
