People of the Greater Male Region Can Soon Picnic on Kuda Giri Island!

Remember the good old days when we looked forward to the weekend because everyone had plans of hopping away on a boat to the neighboring ‘Kuda Bandos’ for a picnic? You will soon be able to do that again, but this time, it will be to the island of K. Kuda Giri.  
 
Maldives Transport and Contracting Company has signed the project to execute “K. Kuda Giri Picnic Island Reclamation and Shore Protection Project” with Maldives National Planning, Housing and Infrastructure. The ceremony was held on Wednesday in attendance of Adam Azim, CEO of MTCC and Fathimath Shaana Farooq, Director General of MNPHI who signed the agreement respectively. 
 
The scope of work of the project include reclamation of 8 hectares of land, and construction of a 428m revetment and a 397m breakwater. Valued at MVR 41.36 million, MTCC has 150 days to complete the project.
