Government of Maldives Condemned the Attacks on Saudi Airport

Government of the Maldives has shared a statement strongly condemning the drone attack on Abha International Airport in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia on Tuesday.  
 
Reports in international media state that there were two drone attacks on the airport targeting civilians, second of which was intercepted and shot down. The first attacked injured both Saudi and foreign civilians, a total of 8 casualties with one in serious condition.  
 
The statement read that such deliberate and systematic acts of terrorism targeting civilian areas and infrastructure are a clear violation of the international laws. The heinous act that imperils the security and safety of the innocent civilians and travelers.  
 
The region of Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is already on thin ice regarding the ongoing conflicts and continuation of such acts will hinder the ongoing peace efforts being made by the concerned parties and the international community towards a resolution.  
 
Maldives stands in solidarity with the brotherly people and the Government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia as reiterated in the statement, and assures steadfast commitment to the fight against terrorism in all its forms and manifestations.
