Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital has urged patients to ensure that requests issued from medical service providers outside the hospital are duly updated on the Aasandha Vinavi portal.
The recent upsurge of patient waiting times and need to repeat consultation at IGMH has caused immense inconveniences to patients coming in because the service requests are not updated to the portal, according to IGMH.
Aasandha Vinavi portal acts as an interconnected network of stakeholders across the medical sector in the Maldives aimed to provide a more efficient service to patients. Service requests issued will be accessible to all service providers registered on the portal hence, IGMH has stated that it will only be providing service to requests from outside the hospital that are updated on the portal.
When presented with a request issued from outside the hospital that is not updated on the portal, IGMH requires patient to reconsult at the IGMH General OPD, and issue a fresh service request. Once raised, corresponding departments will issue appointments for bookings and memo processing to obtain the service subject to IGMH availability.
These extra steps impose unnecessary time consumption and cost to the patient and therefore, IGMH requests patients visiting the hospital to obtain a service requested by another service provider is duly updated on the portal.
