Creative Arts Made a Group Subject, More Focus on Practical Sessions

In light of the recent critics aimed at the Ministry of Education regarding the recollection of books handed out to students of Grade 1 for the subject Creative Arts, the Ministry has issued a press release explaining the matter officially.

According to the statement, the syllabus of Grade 1 was revised and it was decided that the classes will be based on the new curriculum for the academic year 2021. The subject of Creative Arts will be taught as a group subject for students in groups of 5 with a reference book. Teachers will have a book of their own as well.

Since the book is bigger in size compared to the other books, and there is no need for individual books as per the new syllabus, the extra books that were handed out to students are being called in for recollection by the Ministry.

The aim of the subject Creative Arts is to encourage and teach different creative art forms which requires more practical sessions than theoretical.
