King Salman Mosque to Be Opened By Ramadan 2022

Ministry of Foreign Affairs warmly welcomed the delegations from Saudi Arabia to discuss the official opening of King Salman Mosque in Male’ City. The delegates were led by the Under Secretary for Islamic Affairs, Saudi Arabia, Awwad Sabty M.Alnezi.  

Originally planned to open in Ramadan of this year, due to the delays in finishing caused by the unfortunate COVID19 pandemic, the opening will now be held by Ramadan of 2022. Built by the Turkish Company, Turmaks, a total of USD 25 million was spent on the building of King Salman Mosque. 

During the meeting, discussions about the finishing work of the mosque was made as per the comments shared by the Deputy Minister of Islamic Ministry, Shafiu Ali. The mosque will glow with Arabic calligraphy with Ayats from the Quran, huge chandeliers and many more that will represent the architectural aspects seen in Islamic Traditional mosques.
