Is there anything Qatar Airways cannot accomplish? Prominent airline, Qatar Airways not only reached the 20-million follower mark on Facebook but also snatched the title of being the first airline to do so in all its social media platforms reaffirming its position in the airline business as the most popular airline worldwide.
The airline began its social media journey in 2012 and presently has active social media accounts in Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and LinkedIn and regularly engage with their followers through creative and interactive content, reaching out to over 26-million people.
This is not the first time the airline has been tagged with the ‘most popular’ title. The first time the airline snatched the title was on December 14th when they reached 8-million follower mark and continued to have perfect grip on the title since then. So technically, Qatar Airways beat itself for the title.
Qatar Airways notes Facebook particularly as a key platform in staying touch with its customers during the illegal blockade against the state of Qatar in 2017, playing a key-role in maintaining consumer trust. Apart from this, over 4-million followers on Facebook was gained during the peak time of the pandemic. The airline hopes to increase their follower base on all social media platforms to 30-million by the year 2022.
They presently operate flights to a total number of 100 destinations including regular flights to Maldives in which they have been named as the airline carrying the most number of tourists into the country.
