MTCC Ramps Up Bus Frequency to Cater for Increasing Demand

Maldives Transport and Contracting Company took over the Greater Male’ Bus Schedule upon being handed the complete operations of it earlier this year. The service connects residents in Male’ and Hulhumale’, in addition to its transfers to the airport.  

Given the pandemic situation that is slowly recovering in the new normal, the demand for public transport on the bus in observing a steady increase in demand as well. Government offices and schools have resumed physical operations which has led to higher traffic of public transport users hence, MTCC has announced added frequency to the schedule.  

Now, you can catch the bus to Hulhumale’ from the Carnival stop at 61 different timings on weekdays. The timings have been reduced from 20-minute gaps up to 15-minutes in order to provide more convenience to customers.  

Enhancing their connectivity, MTCC has also included a new stop to the bus route from Westpark stop to the airport to include a stop at Dharumavantha Hospital. The addition will bring greater reach to the community living in the area and Villimale’. Effective now, the buses will operate from 5.40 in the morning to 10 minutes past midnight as per the schedule.
