Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Maldives and President-elect of the 76th UN General Assembly, Abdullah Shahid called on Prime Minister of Japan, Yoshihide Suga and Foreign Minister, Toshimitsu Motegi in order to discuss his priorities and vision for UNGA76.
His excellency, Foreign Minister Abdullah Shahid took the opportunity to thank Foreign Minister of Japan, Toshimitsu Motegi for the continuous and generous support from Japan during the COVID-19 pandemic. As well as a brief discussion on the various aspects of the Maldives-Japan relationship and His excellency, Abdullah Shahid also shared his vision for the #PresidencyOfHope with the esteemed Japanese Government Representatives.

Most Notably; His excellency was joined by the Maldives Paralympics Team as this is the first time in History that Maldives will compete in the Paralympics as well as The Japan-Maldives Parliamentary Friendship League assembly that has been crucial to strengthening the Maldives-Japan relationship.
