Maldives Meteorological Service Revamps Website, Makes Weather Report Seamless

In order to provide the public with convenient access and the latest weather information, MMS has updated its website and added more useful additional functions. The beta version of the site is now open to the public. Considering different user groups, it can be viewed in Dhivehi and English.

The website is designed to be responsive to tablets and various mobile devices. There are three-day weather forecasts in the iconic five-station format on the home page. You can scroll down the page to display the most recently observed temperature, rain, and wind for the site selected from the drop-down menu.

It will also display the hourly data observed for the last 24 hours. The latest satellite images are displayed as slow animated slides. Scrolling down the page will provide you with tidal graphs and some astronomical information, such as sunrise / sunset and moonrise / moonset for the day. The latest earthquake in the Indian Ocean region has also been updated.

MMS expresses heartfelt gratitude towards UNDP Maldives for their valuable contribution for the development of MMS webiste through its program on strengthening early warning operating procedures, including public awareness on disaster risk reduction, and increasing national capacity for disaster preparedness. They also appreciate the skillful work done by The Loop Craft in designing and developing the website.
